Who can join MASA?
MASA is open to any and every University of Michigan student who is willing to dedicate themselves to the team. The more, the merrier! We have undergraduate students, graduate students, international students, engineering students, non-engineering students, and everyone in between on our team! If you have been accepted and plan to attend the University of Michigan, please reach out as well!
When and how do I join?
MASA hosts mass meetings twice a year at the beginning of the fall and winter semesters to recruit new members. However, you can join anytime by filling out the form below.
How much of a time-commitment is expected of me at MASA?
There is always work to do, and you get out what you put into the team. You will likely have a mandatory weekly meeting along with worksessions. Depending on your level of involvement, expect 5 to 25 hours of work per week. Work also tends to pick up as we approach important deadlines!
What if I can't commit that much time?
We understand that people may have a lot going on, so our Leads always make an effort to assign projects to members based on what is best for them. Check us out anyways, and we're sure we can find a way for you to still be involved!
I don't know anything about rockets but still want to get involved. Is there anything I can do?
MASA's mission is to teach students about rocketry and hands-on engineering. As long as you're willing to learn, don't hesitate to get involved. Alternatively, we're always looking for members to fill administrative roles for the team.
Can I join if I am not a UM-Ann Arbor student?
Usually, no. However, we sometimes make exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Reach out to us with the form below if you're interested and we'll be in touch!
Why should I join MASA?
That's a little self-explanatory: we make rockets! MASA is going to space, and who wouldn't want to be a part of it!
