Peyton Hooker
Peyton graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan. As President, his role is to be the outward face of MASA to its sponsors, competitors, and aerospace companies.

Chief Engineer
Jack Taliercio
Jack Taliercio is currently a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering. As Chief Engineer, he oversees the development, manufacturing, and testing of the rocket. Last year, as ATLO Lead, he led the development of MASA’s new test stand and fill system. He is excited to continue working with the team as they strive to launch the Tangerine Space Machine!

Vice President
Israa Ali
Israa is currently a junior in Aerospace Engineering. As Vice President, she focuses on helping the President, outreach initiatives, and the MASA mentorship program. She is also on MASA Structures and is a research scholar working on improving STEM in higher education. In her free time, she trains for and runs marathons.

Paige Adams
Paige is currently a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering and is from Nevada. As Safety Officer, her role is to make sure that team members are educated on the systems they work with and can be safe to make sure that test operations go as smoothly and safely as possible.

Theo Rulko
Theo is currently a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering. As Business Lead, he is in charge of MASA's branding and external image and works with suppliers and donors to ensure that MASA has the resources it needs to continue building rockets. Theo is also a member of MASA Structures.

Joshua Miller
Josh is currently a Sophomore in Aerospace Engineering. As Treasurer, he is responsible for maintaining the overall budget and managing team member reimbursements. Josh also leads the design of the injector for the RP-D2 engine.

Aerodynamics Lead
Erin Levesque
Erin is currently a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering and is from the west suburbs of Chicago. She joined the team in the beginning of her freshman year at the University of Michigan. As Aerodynamics Lead, she oversees the design and development of the recovery system components, fins, and the nosecone. She is very excited to continue working with MASA towards the goal of launching the Tangerine Space Machine!

ATLO Lead
Geoff Parkes
Geoff is a senior studying aerospace engineering and is really excited to be leading the ATLO subteam this year. In the past, he has worked on the composite overwrap pressure vessel (COPV) project and on ground support equipment. Outside of MASA, he enjoys competing in the intramural Broomball and Wallyball leagues. If the whole aerospace engineering thing doesn't work out, he'd want to pursue freelance filmmaking.

Marion Anderson
Marion is Ph.D Pre-Candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). He heads up the hardware design and systems engineering aspects of Avionics, in addition to helping other subteams better specify their data collection and automation needs.

Aidan Kingwell
Aidan is a junior double-majoring in Computer Science and Engineering and Space Sciences, and is thrilled to head the avionics software team. She has loved space since she saw the Mars rover launches as a child. Outside of rocket science, she enjoys playing guitar and restoring computers that are older than she is.

Akashdeep Pawar
Akash is a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering out of Lansing, MI. Since joining MASA Structures in the fall of his freshman year, he has worked on the tank endcap assembly, the burst-tank (liquid oxygen tank) testing campaign and the airframe sections for the Tangerine Space Machine. In his spare time, Akash enjoys watching films along with playing intramural football and soccer.

John is currently a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering and is from a small town near Lansing, Michigan. He joined the team almost as soon as he started attending the University of Michigan. He first became interested in going into Aerospace when he saw the first landing of the SpaceX Falcon 9 booster in 2015.

Kara Vanderwest
Kara is currently a junior in Aerospace Engineering. From a young age, she was inspired to take up an engineering role, working with her Dad at his machine shop or practicing welding in an inert atmosphere glovebox. The brave men and women of the space program are role models to Kara and it would be her dream to eventually join them in exploring space!
